Cut in Vinyl siding

When my roof was put on, I think it was one of their ladders they put against my wall, which made a cut into the vinyl siding.

Will silicone work? Thank you.

Can you take a photo of this and post on the internet? Sometimes a photo is reallly worth 1,000's of words.

Details: Shape/size of cut? Which side house-south, west? Exact location on wall? Your geographic location for weather, temp extremes?

I can always think of questions!

Can you kids help you at all, for climbing, lifting, digital camera use, etc?

Digital cameras are great and easy to use. Neat to learn how to post photos too.

The caulk is a good idea for, at least, temporary fix...maybe semi-permanent.
