Can aybody tell me if they know of a way to avoid replacing my Madcliff toilet form 1928 because the top feed fill valve is bad? Is anybody making new ones or can I find an old top feed fill valve somewhere? Somebody must have some experience with this stuff. I have three of these toilets and am leaking about 20 gallons per hour out of them.

Hello,
I need a tank lid for a Madcliff toilet circa 1925 and thought I'd find out whether you still had yours. If so, please let me know if you have uninstalled it and have the tank lid. They're kind of hard to come by and I'd love to keep my toilet.
By the way, My tank leaks too. If I can find a lid, I'll try to fix the leak.
Thanks,
Chris Bryce

I don't know anything about this business except they have cool looking stuff on their website. They may have a lid for your toilet but they aren't cheap.

Top fill valves are still being made. As for tank lids try:

repairing that top feed toilet is something
sooo very rare around here that no one carries any parts
If you can actually get the fill valve for that old piece of junk
and make it work----adapting it to the inlet..
without risking flooding out your home
its your lucky day....
I suggest you go out and buy yourself some
POWER BALL TICKETS because you are on a winning streak

It's common enough in my area that the plumbing store in my town stocks them. I also can get all the other brass and rubber parts to completely rebuild one of those 5-7 gpf beasts.
