i would like to know what other peoples thoughts are around one piece and three piece shower/bath units. Historically i have thought that the one piece unit is the way to go. They tended to hold up better, required less maintenance, and had a lower likelihood of leaking. Other opinions?

For remodel, you often don't have a choice...you just can't get a one-piece into the house and into the room. They generally get installed or at least placed in the bathroom before all of the walls go up. The fewer joints, the better off you are. But, that being said...not all tub/shower systems are created equal. A good 3/4-piece unit might be much nicer than a cheap 2-piece.

sterling

if you can get a one piece tub into the house its great....

but usually you got to get the breakdown types....

the absolute best is called STERLING by Kohler....
a base and three walls...

never get the types that come in two or three pieces a base and
two walls that are suppoised to drop together....they never line up right.

what would you recommend for a one piece. And are all the units made by Sterling equally as good. Are they better than a one piece by Kohler? This unit is going into new construction so i can use whatever, just want to make sure I will no have problems.

thanks

Depending on where you are in the country
