Is there a way - to add a couple of simple spa jets to a 'standard' shower?
Jets that could be opened or closed so the shower head could be used alone - or in conjunction with the jets.
Ability to use the jets alone without the showerhead would not be a big need.

I am just now installing - so I have full access to the pipe.
But -
Something tells me it CAN'T be as simple as T'ing into the line between the valves and the shower head and then splitting off and attaching the jets.

If this is possible/practical suggestions for sources would be welcome.
If not -- knowing that too would be good and save me some work.

Thanks

Is this the kind of set up you are looking for?

http://www.moen.com/browsecatalog/productcatalog/configurator.cfm?skurefno=208833

Moen makes this in about 40 different styles and finishes.Theres nothing particularly difficult about it.Kohler and other manufacturers make them too.

ACTUALLY -
my semi-significant other -- who I am doing this project for -
Is a little split minded.
She HAD to have TRADITIONAL looking fixtures to fit the period of the house (1929). So - I searched till I found a three handle fixture that was still pressure balanced to meet code.
BUT -
In the process of searching she saw the units like you mentioned -
and NOW wants to know if jets can be ADDED.

So - what I am wondering is -
1 - Do they make jets that have their own internal shut off (like closing a heater vent)
2 - Is it possible/practical/sensible to insert these somehow inline in the pipe going up to the shower head.

total demo of old faucet

If you want something like the Delta with the
jets shooting at your crotch,
you will have to
totaly re do that wall or retrofit it..... whatever it takes..

the Delta style has separate shut offs to the jets....

they have both the crotch sprayers and the nipple sprayers
with separate shut offs for those "special occasions"

I presently have in stock a nickel or Ss steel type

and I have the chocolate one too , they are not all that popular

look at what Delta has to offer here

Diverter plus 2 jets ??

while the two areas you mention certainly deserve attention - on occassion.
What this user is after is something to hit the shoulders and back.

Right now- I am at the bare joists with two bare feed lines -
BUT - I am already committed to a faucet fixture.

What I am looking for is something I can tie in between the tub valves and the shower head to provide a couple of jets.

The ready made single handle units with the jets built in would have been MY choice but not what this user wants.

Looking over your Delta information -- it APPEARS that I can buy just a diverter that would mount in that feed line - to send flow to either the jets or the shower head.
Am I correct??
If so - then all I would need is that unit - plus a coupe of jets.
Right?
Can these be had as stand alone items rather than as repair parts for something else?

Thanks again.

Check with the manufacturer of the valve that you have and they probably make a divertor valve. If you haven't bought one yet, then all options are open. Browse some manufacturer's catalogs. Consider future repairs - like in will I be able to get parts readily when they eventually are needed.
