Hi..
I am putting in a Zoeller Quik Job in the basement.
I am working on venting it.
My question is:
I have a sump pump well that has a 4" vent pipe that goes up throught the roof of the house.
Is it possible that I can tap into this and use this as the vent for the quik john?

Thanks
bill

Yes, just get a 4X reducer and plumb it to the quick job.

Are we talking PVC here?

 I do not agree with this! If the sump was to go dry the methane / smell would leak down into the dry well and eventualy into the house.

It was late last night and I missed that it was a sump pump vent. The 4" size of the sump vent is also odd and threw me off. Generaly the only 4" in a house is the main stack.

No you can't use the sump vent for the Zoeller Quick.

Look around and see if there isn't a DWV vent you can use.

I have never seen a 4" vent for a sump pump. It may have been originally installed as a vent for a Sewage Ejection Pit. Just a guess.
