In our basement, we installed an "upflush" toilet system by BurCam last year and worked great for awhile. Now, we get a bad, sewer odor almost after each time the toilet is used (flushed). We've changed the seals a few times.
One problem, is that the "hole" that the toilet sits over is larger than normal, due to the BurCam design, so we've used more than one wax ring seal.
(The flange hole is about 4.5" in diameter.)
Is it possible that these wax seals break down quicker with this type of toilet system?
Is there another seal style we could use?
Everything else is installed and working properly.
We'd like to not have to keep the basement window open to vent out the odor all the time! (especially during the winter - - burr!)
