here is what we have, a houseboat who parks out (no water or hook up's ele).

She wants to be able to take a hot water shower and doesn't want to depend on a bladder sun heated system,

Doesn't want to run the big generator, but does have a Honda 2000 that runs nearly 24/7. So a heating system for hot water that the Honda 2000 can handle.....so if there is a system out there you think might work thanks. do able in a houseboat

They understand there current holding tank for fresh water will be the next issue to tackle, if they can start take hot water showers any thoughts thanks

A well-insulated tank will heat water without problems, the issue is how fast. To keep the load down for a small generator, you could only use a small wattage heating element, and that means a long time to recover. Combine that with having to store fresh water and store the grey water probably means keeping the showers short, but certainly doable.

It would be nice if somebody offered a tank that you could route the generator exhaust through to heat the water.

if your worried about electrical load .. why not look into a propane fired one pluggs into simple 110V and draws little amps .. plus they may already have propane on board for the stove or furnace .. a navien tankless would be really efficient so a 30 lb cylinder might last a while.. although im not sure if the navi has exterior mount model .. but rheem or one of the other brands may (so you dont take up interior space) mounts on the outside wall and is plumbed though external venting so you wouldnt have to worry about that..
