Generally speaking, PVC pipe is not approved for potable water inside a structure. CPVC is approved.

By the time you get a cpvc transition fitting, a decent cpvd drop ear 90, a length of cpvc pipe and glue you might as well just use copper or galvanized and have a much better job.
