Air expelled from well casing

After heavy rains air will be forcefully expelled from the casing. Why ?

How deep is the well? It sounds as if your well is connected to surface water. In the case of a shallow well, I guess that could be normal.

Hope you aren't drinking that water!

If the well is influenced by rainfall so quickly that air comes out, just think of all the bacteria that can get carried into the water supply.
