Hi folks

I've bought a used water softener on ****. It has an Autotrol 255 control valve with a Logix 760 timer, but it's missing the transformer that goes with the timer.

I have a box of transformers I've collected over the years, so I think there's a reasonable chance I have one that will work. I'm pretty sure it needs a 12V output, but what power does it need to supply. Also, if someone could let me know whether the center pin is positive or negative, that would be really helpful too.

This is the official part http://www.softenerparts.com/Transformer_120v_60hz_to_12vac_1000811_p/ap1000811.htm, but they're about £40 here in the UK ($65 !!)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Al

I've realised that the output on these transformers is AC, not DC, so I'm probably going to have to cough up and buy one from a dealer :-(
