Default brass vs. copper PEX fittings

Can someone explain the difference? Why choose one over the other. I see both being used out in the field.

Brass, and plastic, fittings usually have a thicker wall, so the openings are smaller than for copper fittings. They may also "crystallize" and become brittle.

Brass may also have lead in it, and that is becoming an issue.

Didn't say I was worried, but, the codes prohibiting it are slowly creeping across the country, and everyone dealing with the industry then MUST deal with it.

As of Jan 1 we all have to deal with it and pass the increased costs on to our customers. The taxpayer takes it in the backside again.
