Hello all, I recently moved into a new house and have been experiencing problems with my showers. I have 2 showers, both equipped with Moen, both shower/tub combos. It's a single valve that controls both hot and cold. When I have the tub running everything seems fine, when I lift the valve on the diverter to shower, a high pitch noise appears. I have replaced the shower heads, but no luck. I removed the diverter spout and replaced the washer inside, and no luck. When the high pitch noise occurs, if I flush the toilet, the noise goes away. At first thought, I would think I was getting too much pressure through the shower head, but the problem is, I hardly have any pressure at all. I don't know if this is relevant, but I have a water softener. I barely have enough pressure for a steady flow to come out of the shower head. When I flush the toilet, the pressure drops even more and the water almost falls to the floor instead of spraying. What do you suggest for me to get rid of this noise? This same thing happens on both showers. Are the diverters bad on both showers? Or do I need to find a low-pressure shower head? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
