pulling in new XL poly replacment service

replacing 65' of buthl service pipe with xl polyethelene from meter to house.
have been told to connect old pipe to new pipe at house, then grip meter end attaching it to truck and pull out old pipe thereby pulling in new pipe. any comment?

I would run a pig tail of K copper 10' out of the house then connect with a pack joint / cts coupling and don't forget the stiffners.
