Hi, all,

When my sump pump runs, it shoots the water up and out and then I hear a steady trickling sound of water coming back down the pipe through and below where a check valve is installed. I thought check valves were meant to not allow any water to run back down into the sump pit. Am I wrong or is this normal? THanks much!

There is probably something sticking the valve partially open Mike. I imagine you see the water level in the pit coming back up too.

Well, the pump keeps running so I'm guessing that means the water's rising. There's water coming out of the pump outlet outside, but I just didn't think I should hear water running back down the pipe.
