Question Boiler and water shut off if leak

Is the following true? If an indirect tank or the boiler itself has a leak, would the incoming water will be stopped by the boiler's low water cut off? So NO FLOODING?

Low water cut offs prevent the boiler from firing. They don't turn the water off.

And, if you have an auto-fill valve, and you don't close off the feed to it once the system is initially filled, if you had a leak, it would keep trying to keep the pressure up (i.e., filling) on the system.
