I would like to know if I can use a conventional propane water heater in my mobile home. The water heaters labeled for mobile homes are twice the cost and lower efficiency. The current water heater is in an outside access cabinet with combustion air coming through a vent in the door. The cold water connects to the side but the plumbing can be easily changed. The mobile home is on a permanent foundation. The drywall lining the cabinet is 3/8 but also can easily be changed to 5/8.
