    So how was the view up there?
    Are you sure those shoes have any traction up there?

    Usually the "safety rope" would go up over the ridge to keep you on the roof, not down towards the eave to pull you off. And after the rope goes over the ridge do not tie the other end to a car's trailer hitch to secure it.

    Rope was over the ridge cap pic was taken at end of job.

    Mike Holmes would have kept the rope over the ridge until he got to the bottom of the ladder.

    No, untie it from the car's trailer hitch before someone drives off and pulls him back up over the roof and off the other side.
