Direct vents

Can I use a generator to power my power vent? I'm concerned about harmonic distortion.

Depends on how noisy the generator output is (we're talking electrical noise here, not sound, I assume). Some motors like the frequency to be nice and stable, some use some electronics in their circuit controller, and those may not like a noisy generator output, nor would most anything with electronics in it.
