3 handle shower Diverter stem wont come off.

I'm trying to remove the diverter stem on my 3 handle shower and it wont come off. I was able to loosen it with a deep socket,
but it just gets real loose and turns and turns. Anyone have any ideas?

You've removed the bonnet nut, now you need to put a socket on the nut behind. You will need a faucet stem remover (socket wrench set) to get in that deep.
