Leaking faucet, need help

DIY homeowner here with some plumbing experience, but not on one of these (see pictures). I was unable to find one like it on the web. It looks like I need to remove the faucets from below and then disassemble them in order to replace the leaking components. Removing the clip doesn't seem to free anything up. And if I try to loosen the nut above the sink, the whole unit turns below the sink, and the lines feeding the outlet disconnect. Many thanks, and apologies for the layman's terminology.
