Vibration when shower on

I just put a new cartridge in my Delta single handle shower faucet (1300 series I think). I changed it with a replacement cartridge made by "Danco" that was bought at a big box store. After the job was done I tested it and everything seemed fine. While my daughter was taking the first real shower since I tested it, at some point into it I heard a noise that sounded like an air compressor rattling through the whole house. It took me a minute to realize it was coming from the shower. I told her to turn it off and the noise stopped. She turned it back on and it didn't do it again.

I messed with and could not get it to repeat but noticed as I got past center towards the hot side, the resistance increases slightly. Don't know if that is normal or not. Could there be a serious problem or is it just that the aftermarket cartridge is inferior to a genuine Delta one? Thanks

BTW, I did put a light coat of silicone plumbers grease on the O rings out of habit. Could that have caused a problem?

I don't think the grease hurt anything. If the seals don't fit properly, they can create a vibration and that can cause the water to start and stop which is likely what's making that noise. I've had good luck with OEM parts...not sure if the Danco is the issue or not.
