Interior Design help please..?

this is the link to my living room! -- SOrry the kitchen bar is a little messy.. but in the living room you see a rock fireplace, brown couch, loveseat, and chair.. give me some tips on what to do with layout.. all of the blank wall space.. i want built in bookshelves, but right now we can't afford the 5,000 to buy them.. any other help would be great!

A couple of large mirrors , or artwork, on those walls would be nice.

Are you handy? Bookshelves are a reasonable DIY project, especially in an odd-shaped situation, where stock items won't quite fill the bill.

You ARE aware that all design decisions must be made by the person wearing the pants in the family, namely WIFEY!!!!
