Hi ,
I am going to do a small washroom reno and was wondering what type of 3 inch DWV pipe should be used in the DWV system above the basement concrete floor, ABS OR PVC . I have 4 inch PVC under the concrete. Located in Ontario, Canada.
Thanks,

Here in BC, ABS has been the standard for a long time but Sytem 15 PVC has made big gains. The PCS is quieter than ABS.
Thanks for the replies guys!

In Ontario, can we use ABS underground ? for example, building drain (horizontal sections underground) can be ABS or have to be PVC (white or green in color) ?

my original post said for anything ABOVE ground - but to answer your question - yes ABS can be used for underground, but PVC sewer pipe is mainly used underground, especially for the building drain
