As you are facing the tub, as if you were to get in....Which side is the drain on?

A drain on the left=LH, you can figure out the rest.

tub

If it is a "corner' tub then sometimes you specify which end is the corner, but normally the side the drain is on is the hand of the tub. Now when the drain is in the center, that is a different situation. Acrylic tubs are sometimes unique, in that if the tub can be reversed 180 degrees then the drain is at the end, but if the tub has a specific orientation, or "hand," then the drain is in the center.
