I am remodeling my house, and part of the plan is to repair dome cracks in my button board/plaster hallway. The plan is to roll on concrete glue, add fiber mesh, and skim coat the affected areas. Any tips/suggestions/ideas?

Pay someone to do it! Getting a nice, flat, skim coat (and even worse is a textured coat that looks good) is an acquired skill, few people can accomplish without a lot of trial and error, and wasted time and materials.

V out the cracks with a utility knife until you reach gypsum board or lath. Clean crack with wet sponge then fill with brown bag setting compound.
