I am running 3 inch ABS from the house to the septic tank, there is about a 4 to 5 inch hole in the cement lid of the septic tank. What goes between the tank and the 3 inch pipe to connect the two? Is there some kind of fitting?

Thanks for your help.

Your pipe goes into an opening on the "end" of the tank, NOT into the lid. There should either be a hole for you to stick the pipe into, or a piece of pipe for you to connect to. Openings on the top of septic tanks are for cleanout purposes ONLY.
