It was an INSIDE JOB!!!!

If there was only one valve on the market the Fleck 7000SXT would be my choice. Sure, it may be overkill in some cases and sure, it is a big valve but the 7000SXT will cover more ground and do more than any other valve out there.
No, plumbing ain't rocket science. Unlike rocket science, plumbing requires a license!

To many plastic parts and there is likely to be a break some place along the way.
I am from the school that likes lots of Detroit Steel in the Cars and Trucks.
Yes I do know about the full front coming off the back plate in one piece and then the 4 screws to remove it from the body.. but if either of the two plastic clips are broken the unit is fracked.
And again on the cheap 5800.... that plastic shaft is the same as it was on the 5000 or pro flo..... saddly Fleck did not learn a thing from the 8500.
I understand your concerns, but... Plastic is it for water treatment now. Gone are the days of the 2750 valve, or the old Culligans with the exposed micro switches that would short on the enclosure if you did not remove the timer with the greatest of caution. Even the 9000 is almost a dead valve due to the introduction of the 9100. The original electro-mechanical 5000 was not a good valve, but that was over a decade ago. Same for the 8500, a great idea, but a bad valve. The plastic piston rod has been used for many years without fail. Plastic pistons and rods were frowned upon years ago, but now they are considered as good as the teflon coated brass pistons. I have been runing my 5800 test bench 24/7 at 150 PSI, just going in circles over and over again for over a month, no problem yet. This is some extreme testing for any valve, it has passed every reasonable test we have thrown at it. This is a lot more that can be said for most of the valves we test here. I am fairly confident the 5800 will be a very popular valve, and it should hold up as well as 7000, 5600 or WS1.
Re: the tabs on the 7000, we have intentionally broken them and tested the valve, no problem, but I would recommend installing the "UPS" screw if you do this. Even so, the plastic piece that you are referring to 40979 is less than $10, I would not worry too much about it.Considering the valve only needs rebuilding every 10 years or so... and since the valve has only been in the field for a little longer than a decade, we still see very few rebuilds being necessary. I only stock a few dozen rebuild kits, as opposed to the boxes of 5600 rebuild parts we stock. Then again, the 5600 has been in the field for over 30 years and it is the best selling control of all time, so a lot of companies make a good living off of rebuilding them.
It's been 3 days and no video....

You can always go to the movies

Wow, I didnt realize I was your employee and under you personal time constraints. Let me drop my training seminar in China right now, get back to the US to tomorrow to put together that video for you so you will be appeased. Get a life and do as Tom said, go to the movies. I will post the video when I post it. Or you could do one yourself. I will be back in town tomorrow, but since I have a Halloween light show to put on, 3 daughters and a wife, 3 hockey games for myself this week, and 12 hours of hockey practice for my 7 year old daughter, a spelling bee for my 7 year old to train for, a trade show to prep for, 2 training seminars to put on next week, travelling to Chicago at the end of the week, and a few other small commitments this week... you are slumming in a Wal Mart parking lot with plenty of time on your hand, please do it for me. Stop yer B&M'ing and wait til I get have a few minutes to put together a semi decent video.
BTW, still waiting for pictures of you and your runway model ex wife.
Oh, so now you have to create the video that you already have said you have and use to train your techs and that you said days ago that you would post a link to on Youtube...

Wow, do you really think I am going to post a training video on youtube that hasnt been modified for length and content? Most of my training seminars are customized to a particular companies brand or product line, I dont think they want me posting that information on Youtube. So what movie did you see?
Like I said, we'd see if you posted any video, although in post #8 you said:
"AKPSDVAN, send me a PM if you want, I can email you a 1 minute tear down video of the 7000, it shows how to get around the "difficulty" of removing the powerhead. There are 2 ways of doing it, the way we train makes the rebuild take about a minute less than manual shows.".
And then in post #10 you said;
"I can post a link to a video on how to remove the gear assembly and rebuilding the valve. it is one of the easiets valves to rebuild and can be done by any DIY if they have a basic knowledge of basic tools.".
They were 6 days ago and all you've done since is make excuses.

I think it was said best earlier, Déjà vu
Actually we have been in a campground in Fl since mid May.
Here is the only picture I have of us. It was taken in Holland in 1963 by a USAF buddy that visited as he was returning to the UK from a TDY assignment in Germany. We were roomies and worked together in the UK. The pic was taken as we escorted him off the (Dutch) airbase as he left to go back to England. She was the base commander's private secretary and her BIL was a fighter pilot stationed there. She knitted the sweater she's wearing, she made most of her clothes. I had a pic of her on the beach we lived on in a polka dot bikini she made when we lived in FL in 1964-65 but cant find it on this computer. I may have moved it with a lot of other files etc. to an external hard disk years ago when my stepson got rid of the compartmentalized formatting on my hard disk for me. And you've not motivated me sufficiently to go get it and hook it up to look for the pic....
So no more excuses now, post the video you promised.
The pic of the motor home was taken in a Walmart parking lot.
