Hello, Want to replace bathtub in a third floor condo the finish is very poor, scratched etc.

Can the bathtub be replaced without impacting the tenants below me on the second floor?

Can the drain and overflow be reattached without opening the ceiling up on the floor below?

Many Thanks

Other than a little noise! YES to both questions. As always, our advice is to get a very well qualified plumber, possilby someone who is familiar with your complex or similar type construction. It is SUPER important to get this done by someone who will give you confidence of NO LEAKS....because a little leaker will be a major headache, maybe even with lawyers involved. ( The downstairs guy does not have to let you in to work on it. He can hire his own repairs and turn it over to Perry Mason.)
