New drain/trap or keep old....

Hi,
If i were to replace a cast tub with a like kind, is it likely I would NOT have to replace the drain/trap? Just set the new tub down on a new gasket? The current setup is all brass, I think.

It is almost inconceivable that ANY new tub would have the same dimensions as the old one, unless it was the exact same make and model.

My 36 year old Villager with a new Villager... On paper the specs are the same.
