ABS Trap Arm to ABS or PVC P-Trap?

If the trap arm is ABS what would be the best type of p-trap to use? (Needs to be to residential plumbing code.)

We buy PVC traps that come with ABS trap adapters. My options at a plumbing supply are much better then the hardware stores.

An ABS trap adapter (desanko) and from there you can go chrome, rough brass, pvc or whatever you can find
