Hello,

Does anyone know the process or instructions to remove this item.

I believe it is an Avante model from price pfister.

I do not want to cause damage to piping behind the tile wall surface.

Do I need to remove any clips. price_1.jpgprice.jpg

Thanks for any information or advice.

Thanks,
richard8

That outer ring is the retainer. It needs to be unscrewed. You have a lot of deposits, so you will need to soak with vinegar and proceed carefully.

Unscrew the cap. Put the screw back into the stem. Then grab it with a pair of pliers, push the stem in and they YANK it out hard and quick. You will probably have to repeat the "push/pull" a few times but it will come out.

People are paying me for my time, so I do NOT soak anything in vinegar or anything else. Remove the cap, pull the cartridge, put in the new one, and make out the bill.
