When mounting the brass fitting for the rainhead shower feed in the shower i am working on, I had to put some pressure on the fitting to get it to sit against the wood (creating a little bit of torque pressure on the elbow joint it is connected to further down the line).

Is a little bit of pressure (torquing) acceptable? Nothing in the wall will be moving, so is a little bit of pressure (which actually keeps the pipes from wiggling)ok?
