Default Cast Iron install in Vancouver

We are installing a Cast Iron Kohler on our current project in North Vancouver. We left the area around the drain connection openfor fine tuning and have all the supporting tile set.

With my 6' level across the floor my plumber double checked his height to center for the over flow. This overflow connection has some play so the tub should go in easy.

We tried with just two of us and with the close distance to the wall couldn't install it just right. The tub was heavy and we place it down over the trim base off centered and crooked. To my surprise the trim base is a plastic coated MDF material and failed in a few locations.

These marks are hidden once the tub sits properly in position - Thank god!

The tub design is outstanding and so comfortable. My client loves it and can't wait for the first soak!

    Got the tub in.

I used a few scraps of drywall on the floor to prevent the tub from moving off its final mark.

Getting at that back adjustment screw was a bitch. Lucky I had my See Snake so I could tell what I was doing.

And an overflow test to make sure that this safety system is working properly. I do not like the foam backer overflows but this one sealed up perfect.

Always preform an overflow test. On permited project the inspectors like to see this overflow and then watch the tub drain.

If your plumber tells you it's not needed - tell him to do it anyway.

This simple check can save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars one day.

We checked this tub and it was not quite perfect. Backed off the three screws, backed of the adjustable elbow at the back, reset the screws, reset the elbow and it was perfect.
