Before winter comes, turn-off flow to the outdoor spigots, This way you can prevent bursting pipes caused by water left in the lines that subsequently freezes.
Also, if you’re planning on going away for some time in the winter, remember to leave the heat on, you can turn it way down but don’t stop it and leave the kitchen and vanity cabinet doors open so heat can reach the pipes to avoid freezing.

Even though a dripping faucet may not seem to waste significant amounts of water, over the course of day, each individual drop adds up to thousands and thousands of drops, or gallons and gallons of water.
