dirty well water cold only
two days ago well water goes brownish with dirt in it. The hot water hasn't turned colors yet. 40 foot well three years ago sumerged pump is 3 years old. Holding tank 3 years old. No softner or filter system. Rained alot two days ago. Snowed last night. We have never had this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the OP has a mud well as opposed to a rock well (given that it's only 40 feet deep) in which case it may not be a casing seal issue but rather a high water table. It could be that the top of the aquifer was never developed.
Granted, if drilled through gravel, the aquifer is surface water but there should have been a slurry used to seal the casing none the less so prudent to inquire.
water is pulsating pressure isnt near as good as it was two days ago. Can a pressure problem cause this dirty water? Let water run for 15 minutes water has cleared for the most part. Any ideas on this problem. Could it be a hard water build up in the pressure tank and hot water tank?
