Im really new at this , so Ive got a 85 gallon tank , its a regular tank no bag inside of it, just a straight

85 gallon, Pro Sourse tank, 1 hp jet pump. Setting are 30/60 . I get 18 gallons of water before

pump turns back on, Takes about a minute or so to shut off after it comes on. Im I in the ball park as far as

amount of water before pump comes back on?

Ive got a deal that goes into the side of the tank, about 15 or so inches above bottom of tank

not sure if it lets air in or lets air out or maybe both, it has a copper line that goes to the

suction side before it gets to the pump.

With the perfect amount of air in the tank and a 30/60 pressure switch setting, you should be getting about 35 gallons draw down from that size tank. That little copper tube is part of your air maker system. And depending on how much air charge it keeps in the tank, determines how many gallons you get out before the pump starts. 18 is really not too bad.

"Example 5

This shows how the drawdown changes if we widened the differential between the cut-in and cut-out pressures from 30/50 to 30/60.
Drawdown = (28 + 14.7) / (30 + 14.7) – (28 + 14.7) / (60 + 14.7) x 85
Drawdown = 38.4 x 85 = 32.6 gallons."

Sorry missed it by a little. But I used this... http://cyclestopvalves.com/runtime_app.php
