What happens if the drain line freezes? Will it damage my softener when it tries to regenerate? or will it just not do it?

Thanks!!

Other than possible cracking the pipe, nothing to the softener. If the water can not flow, then the softener can not regen.

Drain line plugged or frozen.. will have the water go into the brine tank and depending on the float assembly it may or may not over flow the brine tank or salt tank depending on what one calls the tank that has the salt.

Out side of that,,,,,,,, just what mialynette2003 said.
