How often the pump comes on depends on how much water you use. Measure how many gallons of drawdown you get to determine if the tank is waterlogged. I think you should see close to 10 gallons. Time how long it takes to refill the tank with no water being drawn.

Consider installing a Cycle Stop Valve.

If you are not using any water, the pump should never come on.
