    Default residential water pump problem

After a recent hurricane, in which the tank floated up (the pump and tank are in a pit), there seems to be air in the system. The pump/motor does not over cycle. It seems to be functioning normally except for the following. After the system sits all day there is alot of air when you first turn on the water at any faucet. There is normal pressure for the most part, but at times it seems to be air locked. When you turn on the faucet there is little to no water, turn it off then back on and a spurt of air comes out and pressure is normal. A few times, it only spurted air after the faucet was on for a period and right as the pump kicked on. We have replace the pressure switch, the check valve, must of the piping around the pump (thinking there was a suction leak). Any ideas?

I think you still have a suction leak but, check the air charge in the tank also. It needs to be at 2lbs less than the pump cut in pressure. There's a sticky in the pump section here that leads you though the adjusting process.
[B]No, plumbing ain't rocket science. Unlike rocket science, plumbing requires a license[B]
