Advice on wells/pumps

We are constructing a new home - 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath, two laundry rooms,etc. We have a well where we have a flow of 2 GPM at 700 ft. The well is 900 ft deep. We have received conflicting advice on conventional and constant pressure systems and are unable to decide how to proceed. It's a 2-acre lot so there will be a need for a sprinkler system in the future for the lawn (a portion of the lot will have a lawn).

What would your advice be for the design of a pump/motor system for a house of this kind? The house will be about 6000 sq. ft on two levels with a finished basement of another 2000 sq. ft with a bedroom, bathroom and wet bar...

You will need to go with two pumps and a storage tank. 2 GPM only equates to 2880 gallons a day and a 20 GPM sprinkler system can chew through that in a couple of hours.

Determine how many gallons you will use to size the tank accordingly.

What conflicting advice did you get on constant pressure systems?

You either need a second well or a deeper well.

What flow (and at what depth) is typical for your area? Here 50-70 gpm is found at 150 feet. I've seen well drillers use the wrong bit and go over 1,000 feet only to get 3-5 gpm.

Ask around, your driller might be the problem.

One recommended constant pressure for this situation and another recommended conventional... which is confusing. What are the parameters we should be considering?

Can you please explain more ? What is a sufficient flow of water until which we should drill? What should I be asking the drilling contractor?

Also, what is the difference between CSV and constant pressure pump ? Which is better and why for our situation? Can someone comment, please?

Do you know the static water level in the well? (Before you start pumping.) Can make a big difference on which pump you put in the well.

Either way you are going to need a storage tank and booster system for the kind of flow rates you are talking about. The well can only make 2 GPM. So you have to store this water over time in a tank, (24 hours = 2880 gallons) so you can use it at higher flow rates for irrigation like (12 GPM for 4 hours).
