Two sinks to one.

I am installing a new vanity in my bathroom and it previously had a vanity with two sinks...which I want to convert to a single sink vanity. However I want to leave the existing plumbing in place. So the question is...if I mount a sink in the middle of the new vanity can I plumb the drain and supply lines over to one of the existing drains and supply lines?
The offset is about 18 inches.

No problem as long as it does not get in the way of any drawers.

Thanks....yeah..I don't want to lose a drawer so I'm thinking of putting a 90 on the drain right at the bottom of the sink (vessel) and then doing another 90 down to the j-pipe..does that sound acceptable?

Probably NOT if you have the conventional vessel sink. There may be TOO much air between the sink and the trap so it will be "air bound" and will either not drain very well, or not at all.
