Pump short cycling I think?

I have a Simer 2802E well pump and it's pumping grate at 7 gallons a minute. But when you close the facet it will rapidly and repeatedly cycle on and off.

Dues that sound like a leak? Would it be on the suction side or presser side?

Sounds like two problems, a busted bladder and a leaky footvalve.

Thanks, "leaky footvalve" You mean a check valve right? This is a shallow well jet pump.

In the pump business there is a distinction between a footvalve and a checkvalve, but they both prevent the reversal of flow.

If you have a check valve between the pump and pressure tank, remove it. It will cause the switch to bounce the way you describe it.

Pump short cycling I think?
