We are remodeling our kitchen with everything down to new drawer pulls. One thing we are putting in is a dishwasher. This house has never had one. My question is, since the dishwasher is around a corner from the sink, can I plumb the drain line straight through the floor into the main line??? If so, are there any particular things I need to pay attention to???

The difficulty of your job will depend upon your access to the waste pipe below. You will need to cut in a trap and vent. Hopefully you can tie into a nearby vent, but if not, then your job will get much more difficult.

If there are cabinets between the DW and the sink, it will be easier to just run the drain and water hoses through the cabinets and connect them to the sink lines.
