Don, you are right about maybe an electronics thread.
And I agree with you on the Casey thread; everything you said. Just don't bust a gut over it; there should be a bullshit thread and all those USA bashing posts by Ian moved to it.

Terry needs to make an Electronics Forum.
That way we don't mess up the Electrical Forum, With the Good stuff.
And the argument about Ground Fault Interrupts can continue with out Interruptions.
Just my thought.
I hope everyone is having a great day. We missed you JW I hope all is well. Don't let your meat spoil.

Good catch Don. Base polarity is an important thing. So what do they call that output, a cascaded emitter follower or something like that?

No a cascaded emitter follower uses the same type of transistor, Typically 2 NPNs, I do believe.
It is a complementary pair.
I personally do not like to direct couple transistors, I would have put a 1K resistor on the base of Q2.
But that is a mater of personal preference.
With a limiting resistor at least if one transistor gos bad, It don't take out the other.
Then you have to add more smoke, because it all gets let out. lol
I hope You are having a enjoyable Weekend.

Realize this post is old. I'm new here and wondering if anyone has plans to Built a 512 Hz Transmitter. I found plans to build a Transmitter Tracker, but not sure how to turn it down to 512.
512 is AM correct?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
Depending on the bandwidth it can be am/fm/cw/ssb or whatever you design it for. I would think CW is the norm, if you plan to use it as a Pipe locator.
512 HZ is in the Audio range , so why not just use a audio generator / or a 512 HZ tape recording and a speaker ?
