Im adding a bath vanity in an existing corner, I plan to build a 4 ft high wall on the other side out 36 " from wall , should I leave enough clearence to clear the vanity top (31") and fill in the 1/2 " on each side of vanity with wood strip or should I leave only room for vanity 30" and saw off the vanity top . Im worried about matching the finish if I go with a stained vanity.

If you can saw the top smoothly and evenly, then that would be an easier way to do it. But either way will work, if you can match the filler strip's finish to the cabinet.

most cabinet makers, and I mean even the RTA cabinets from a hardware store, offer matching filler strips for their products. Cutting a cultured marble top is doable but why go to the trouble? In any case, I assume you would use side-splash strips?
