We had a problem a few months ago with the toilet backing up, junk came up in the shower and water leaked from the sink lines. We paid a plumber to snake it out (thru the shower) and that fixed the toilet. We never really use the shower (it's our second Bthrm) and the sink was now leaking at the connection to the sink so that was out of commission. Long story short...we did a complete remodel, moved the shower, toilet, and sink to different spots in our 5x6 bthrm.
The toilet and sink had been working for a few weeks since the remodel has been complete. Went to take the first shower and after draining for 5 minutes it began to back up in the shower. Now the shower and sink are backing up and the toilet won't drain when flushed. The rest of the house is fine. Snaked 25 with hand snake at the catch where these three drain together. Had some junk but after a few times it was clean.
What could be backing this up? It seems it is only at this point in the plumbing system as all the rest of the drains in the house are fine.
What role does the vent in this play? If I snake the vent pipe with a hose will it push junk further in the system? If the water comes out clean is the vent fine?
Please advise!!!
