I will assume your backflow is a pressure vacuum breaker that is in the shade most of the day. Between that and the humidity condensation is normal because both factors slow evaporation of the condensation making it more noticeable.

It has been hot and humid the last few days and I have noticed a lot of condensation on my backflow preventer that is outside my house for my sprinkler system. Is this normal. The condensation accumulates even when I am not running my sprinkler. I would have thought that once the cool water sits in the pipe for a while that it would warm up and the condensation would go away. Thanks in advance.
