How many people caught this documentary?

In it, it mentions and shows how England gets coal from the US and, then trains delivering it runs out of oil...

Electric cannot run anymore grid to grid... it runs on oil.

Cattle which are bred to feed the people are starving to death...

Japan which imports 60% of its food is now starving to death...

the people question should the next field crop be for fuel (corn, ethanol) or for food?

Good question. What do we eat when staples like corn and sugar are used for fuel?

The only answer is nuclear power with plug in cars.

Small cars.

And public transport.

Big America is just gonna have to get a whole lot smaller!

Nah...

We'll just start up coal gasification and stop shipping it to Britain...

God has always blessed us with large wars and hideous mega diseases just when the population started to exceed its bounds, as it does now.

Or pray for a Asteroid of moderate size landing in Iraq.

And yes, save your used drain oil, vegetable oil, and tires for after the crash. Better than gold!

Sometimes I don't think people realize how many different kinds of things are made from oil. You can own an electric car but what about its tires? Are they electric tires?

Even rubber gloves, anything, rubber, is made from oil. I think, a shortage of oil might increase the population. :)

There will be a second baby boomer generation.

A world without oil would either be sunshine and roses with everyone living in peace. Or we might be waist deep in horse droppings because we still use animals for transportation with our 6 shooters on our side. The air would be polluted with smoke from our campfires.

Nope. But there would be effective public transport.

I love the way Americans are so adverse to taking a bus or a train!

That will have to change.

What train? what bus? What would run the train? Your country won't even get any coal ... and so far, as buses, what makes you think, any country would have buses? Don't even say a bike... unless, you can ride on metal tires, oh my... no steel would be produced either. Looks like you would have to walk Ian, but, since your body won't be fueled correctly with food looks like you wouldn't have the energy either.

Look. Oil will not run out. It will just get so expensive that it will not be efficient to use for fuel in cars.

Other things made from oil can be recycled. So you'll stop buying gas before the tires run out.

Now get your sorry behinds on a bus and train and do the climate a favor.

If there are no buses and trains use taxes to buy them.

And if the country is too big....tough. You moved here and ran away from your obligations.
