    Default Bad water pressure gauge

Hi, Water pressure gauge reads zero but pump seems to run alright. No obvious loss of pressure as pump does not kick on more than usual. Can pressure gauges go bad with no harm to the system? Will get it replaced but did not want to make an emergency drive to Home Depot in snow.

The gauge is only for you to see. It has nothing to do with the workings of the system. My guess is that it doesn't read zero but rather has wrapped all the way around from freezing, and looks like zero again. The needle is probably on the other side of the stop post.

Thank you for the reply. No it reads just off zero on the correct side. Could it have gone bad or clogged with some sediment? We do have sediment in our well.

Pressure gauges do wear out. Check out this video from WIKA, one of the best pressure gauge manufacturers. A little more expensive than most, but worth it!
