Hi, I'm new to well water. Recently I noticed slight orange stains in a toilet that's not used much. I'm guessing that there must be some iron now in our water. We have a single tank with calcite in it which has been in use for about 5 years. Would it be ok to add some resin to the tank to reduce the iron? Thanks, George

Might be that the calcite filter is either low on media or needs to back wash more often.

You can't add resin and exspect it to work long. Resin has to be regenerated using salt. With the calcite, you only have a backwashing valve and not a regenerating valve.
